Early Settler’s first store was established in 1985 in Victoria trading in Country style furniture. Over the next 20 years Early Settler grew to 23 stores operating throughout Australia and New Zealand and expanded its range to include classic colonial, European and contemporary styles.
We specialise in high quality timber and soft furnishings with matching homewares. In store you will find everything from dining room and loungeroom furniture, bedroom and home office, outdoors and garden through to occasional furniture such as coffee tables, side tables, entertainment units, couches and much more.
Our furniture is made from a wide variety of quality new and recycled Australian, New Zealand and imported timbers such as eucalypt hardwoods, Oak and renewable resource hardwoods like Fruitwood. Available in a wide variety of finishes and stain colours, our extensive range ensures that you get a multitude of choices to enhance any décor or colour scheme.

In 2005 we became part of ESR Group Holdings Pty Ltd (ESR) - a company formed to accommodate the merging of the Early Settler and Recollections brands. ESR is an Australian-owned company specialising in Home Furnishings, Renovation and Building products of Traditional, Period and Country Design.

From our initial concept of offering affordable home products to the period home renovator or professional builder, we have grown to a national chain of 27 stores in across Australia and New Zealand. Recollections specialises in domestic lighting, bathroom, architectural hardware and associated renovation and building products.
